The Cornea Department at Angel Eyes is dedicated to the management of corneal and ocular surface disorders. The department is well equipped with all latest instruments and technology to provide state-of-the-art care for patients suffering from a wide variety of corneal and surface disorders. It specializes in the treatment of the entire range of corneal disorders and infections as well as wide range of other ocular complications, from infections on the surface of the eye and eyelids to trauma care.
Investigations and Diagnostic Services
The department caters to the efficient diagnosis and management of a wide range of diseases:
- Congenital and hereditary corneal disorders
- Corneal and scleral infections
- Ectatic corneal disorders – Keratoconus, Terriens marginal degeneration, Pellucid Marginal degeneration
- Immunologic disorders of cornea
- Peripheral ulcerative keratitis
- Ocular surface disorders including severe dry eye, blepharitis, ocular allergies, chemical injuries, Stevens Johnson syndrome and ocular surface tumors
- Corneal Topography – Evaluates shape and power of the corneal surface.
- Pachymetry – Measurement of corneal thickness using ultrasound
- Aberrometry – Measures the optical aberrations of the eye
- Anterior – Segment OCT: Helps identify depth of corneal scarring/lesions on the cornea, corneal thickness, anterior chamber details
- Anterior segment digital photography – Photographic documentation of various corneal conditions for baseline documentation, and monitoring effects of therapy as well as to monitor progression of the disease in any ectatic disorder.

Contact Lens Clinic
The contact lens clinic at Angel Eyes examines, prescribes, and fits patients with contact lenses, after ascertaining what would be most suitable to their condition. It combines state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure with world class expertise.
Broadly, contact lenses are prescribed for the following conditions:
- Patients with refractive errors
- Patients with ectatic disorders or eye conditions such as keratoconus, keratoglobus, Pellucid marginal degeneration, and Terrien’s marginal degeneration.
- Post-surgical use – For post-surgical use in patients with aphakia, post LASIK, post photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), post corneal transplant or penetrating keratoplasty (PK), post corneal tear repair, corneal scars, paediatric aphakia, post radial keratectomy (RK).
